Update on COVID-19 vaccine plans in Washington state

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) continues to make progress with COVID-19 vaccine distribution planning efforts.

The federal government is leading the planning efforts around the release of a potential COVID-19 vaccine, including how it would be distributed. While it is still unknown when a safe and effective vaccine might be available, DOH will be prepared to deploy it in a manner that is equitable and timely for the people of Washington.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will primarily manage COVID-19 vaccine distribution. DOH is working with the federal government and local partners within Washington to plan for the distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine when one becomes available.

DOH plans to update the public each week on progress. See the DOH news release for more details.
