Let's work together this weekend

Gatherings around Memorial Day, Father's Day, and the Fourth of July contributed to a surge in COVID-19 cases earlier this summer. We need your help to avoid a similar spike after Labor Day.

The Kitsap Public Health District (KPHD) reports the rate of new COVID-19 cases in Kitsap is now declining — a sign that the hard work we are all putting in to slow the spread of the virus is making a difference. We need to keep that momentum rolling into fall. By preventing more people from getting sick and pushing our case numbers lower, we will create the opportunity to open more businesses and classrooms.

A friendly reminder

As we look forward to a warm Labor Day weekend, don’t forget to keep practicing those good habits to protect yourself and others. Maintain distance outdoors, have your mask handy, and keep your gatherings small.

Look for this sign this Labor Day weekend as a friendly reminder at our local parks, beaches, trails and marinas here in Kitsap County. Nearly 200 signs will be posted at some of our most popular recreational sites starting today. Working together, we can stop the spread of COVID-19 in Kitsap County.
