Coroner's Office announces update on unclaimed remains, burial ceremony

The Kitsap County Coroner's Office announced that thanks to the help of the community, now just four of the original 10 remains of persons are unclaimed. A call was sent out previously asking for assistance in locating friends and family of the 10 individuals who were considered indigent or abandoned at their passing.

A new date is set for a public ceremony to inter these four individuals at the Silverdale Pioneer Cemetery. The burial will take place at 10 a.m. July 11. Chaplain Don Melendez of Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue will officiate the ceremony. The public is welcome to attend.
