Hazard Mitigation Town Hall meetings set for September 3 & 4
(Port Orchard, WA) - Plan to attend a Public Town Hall Meeting next week and learn about multi-hazard risks and long term strategies to reduce the risk. Kitsap County's Department of Emergency Management (KCDEM) is introducing a draft version of the new Kitsap County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Hazard mitigation planning is the process state and local leaders use to understand risks from natural hazards and develop long-term strategies that reduce the impacts of disasters on the county's people, property and environment.
Staff from KCDEM will explain the planning process, review the current status of the Plan and and answer questions about the plan. Light refreshments are provided. Here are the dates and locations for the Town Hall meetings.
Tuesday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. Poulsbo City Hall (200 NE Moe Street in Poulsbo)
Wednesday September 4 at 7:00 p.m. Kitsap County Administration Building (619 Division Street in Port Orchard)
