Customer Alerts for Memorial Day Weekend

If you plan on doing a "dump run" to one of our waste facilities this weekend, here are a few things you should know.

Save your scrap metal for another weekend

The metal recycling business that takes our scrap metal is closed for the holiday weekend.

What does this mean for you? Once our scrap metal containers are full, we will close the lids and turn customers away. The containers will not be emptied until Tuesday and you cannot leave scrap metal on the ground.

Please save your scrap metal for another day or call a private scrap metal recycler to ask about their hours.

Olympic View Transfer Station and Central Kitsap Recycling and Garbage Facility (Silverdale) are the only county facilities that accept scrap metal for recycling.

Busy weekend ahead

Despite the rain, our facilities will be busy. Please bring your patience and come prepared.

Credit and debit cards are not accepted as payment at the Central Kitsap (Silverdale) and South Kitsap (Olalla) facilities. Customers who write a check must show a valid ID and write their phone number and driver's license number on the check. Cash is accepted.

Secure and cover your truck or trailer load to keep our community's roads safe for everyone. If you need a refresher on how to secure your load, watch this helpful YouTube video from the Washington State Patrol.
