Proposed pier at Norwegian Point Park previewed

Learn more about Kitsap County Parks Department's efforts to replace a historic fishing pier at Norwegian Point Park during a public meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Greater Hansville Community Center in Buck Lake County Park, 6959 NE Buck Lake Road.

A former fishing resort, Kitsap County has owned the 5.68-acre Norwegian Point Park since 2005. It is located just west of Point No Point Light Station, adjacent to the Hansville Grocery & Provisions Co.

PND Engineers of Seattle was hired as a consultant to create conceptual designs for a new pier. The presentation will include a history of the site and address construction challenges and site characteristics, including data from an underwater survey.
