Olympic View's floor repair project has one final step

Expect long lines on March 9 & 10, avoid if possible

Our contractors have one final step before we can say the floor repairs are finished at Olympic View Transfer Station, the garbage and recycling facility near the Bremerton airport. They need to remove the metal floor plates covering the new concrete and patch any minor cracks underneath.

On Saturday March 9 and Sunday March 10, a large part of the tipping floor will be unavailable for garbage. We will have extra staff to move cars into the building as quickly as possible, but we still expect long lines and wait times. Please postpone your "dump and recycle run" if possible.

If you need to dispose of waste, please use our recycling and garbage facilities in North (Hansville), Central (Silverdale), or South Kitsap (Olalla) instead. They charge by volume and not weight, so you can keep costs down by bringing bags of garbage instead of bulky items. The Central and South Kitsap facilities do not accept credit or debit cards.
