Project Update Week 2: Olympic View Transfer Station Closure

The project is on track and we're scheduled to reopen February 5

Floor repairs are on track at Olympic View Transfer Station, the garbage and recycling facility near the Bremerton airport. We are scheduled to reopen to the public on Feb. 5, 2019. Thank you for your patience and support as we finish this necessary project!

Can't wait? Find an alternative waste facility

If you can't postpone your dump or recycling run, use an alternative waste facility in your area. Check the facility's web page or call ahead to verify hours, accepted items, fees, and restrictions.

Wondering where to get rid of unwanted stuff?

Our facilities are not the only spots to get rid of your unwanted stuff! Sometimes there are easier or cheaper alternatives.

Type your item into the search bar at Recycle.KitsapGov.com. We'll tell you how and where to recycle, compost, or safely dispose of it.

Report illegal dumping with SeeClickFix

Most people have found another facility to use during the Olympic View closure. A few people have decided to pollute our community by dumping their waste on public or private property.

Call 911 if you see illegal dumping in progress.

Report illegal dumpsite locations with our new SeeClickFix mobile app or website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Olympic View Transfer Station closed?

The concrete tipping floor has eroded to the point where rebar is showing. The repairs are extensive. Learn more.

Why should I avoid the Silverdale, Hansville, and Olalla facilities during a project at Olympic View?

We haul garbage and recycling from these facilities to Olympic View, which will be a construction zone with limited space to process waste.

These smaller facilities have less room for waste and containers may fill quickly. We may have to turn people away.

We need your help to reduce the amount of garbage and recycling brought to all facilities. Please store waste at home in leak and rodent-proof containers protected from wind and animals. Keep recyclables dry.
