Lodging Tax Committee members needed

The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the Kitsap County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. The committee reviews applications for lodging tax revenue, conducts interviews and makes recommendations to Commissioners for distribution of funds to organizations producing events or offering services to promote and support tourism in Kitsap County.

The committee is made up of at least five members, including two representatives from businesses required to collect lodging tax (hotels, motels, B&Bs, other vacation rentals) and two from local organizations involved in tourism promotion and events eligible to receive lodging tax revenue but which are not applying for funds in 2018. Representatives are needed from both lodging tax collectors and events/tourism organizations.

Applications are open through July 15 or until the positions are filled. Committee orientation is scheduled for mid-August.
