The Harlem Renaissance was a cultural movement that spanned the 1920s and gave way to such musical greats at Duke Ellington and Jelly Roll Morton. Join the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra for the third installment of the popular “Jazz of the Harlem Renaissance” series. Originally recorded by the Ellington Orchestra in 1935, the score of Reminiscing in Tempo has never been published. This composition demonstrated Ellington’s knack for longer jazz pieces and is considered one of his masterpieces. Cost: adults $41; seniors $37; youth $15.

You can visit with the artists and catch a glimpse into the creative process, purchase art directly from the artist, or just soak up the inspiration.
