The City of Kirkland has hired Lakeside Industries to pave Central Way from 6th Street to Market Street. Daytime work is expected to begin August 18th and will consist of curb, gutter and curb ramp repairs, utility lowering, grinding off the top layer of asphalt and repairing damaged sections of the pavement. Staff expect a night work request from Lakeside Industries Inc. to close Central Way for five nights for final paving and striping. Nighttime work will pave the street’s surface along Central Way from 6th Street to Market Street. The section of Lake Street between Central Way and Park Lane is also expected to be paved with this project.
The nighttime closure of Central Way for paving will be advertised on the project website, This Week in Kirkland traffic alerts, the Kirkland Facebook page and construction signs on Market Street and Northeast 85th Street.
When will construction on NE 85th Street/Central Way be completed?
This overlay project is expected to be complete in October, 2025.
