 State of the City & Community Appreciation Night will be held on May 13, 2025 at the Kirkland Performance Center. The event will run from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

The City of Kirkland is currently engaging the community on the topic of homelessness in Kirkland and gathering feedback that will help shape the City’s Homelessness Continuum of Care action plan. As part of this ongoing outreach, City staff invites Kirkland business owners—whether retail/storefronts, office-based businesses, landlords, or others—to discuss how homelessness impacts your business today and opportunities for the City to improve its response to related issues in the future.
King County has been selected as one of five regions in the U.S. for Comcast RISE Grants. This means 100 small businesses in King County will receive over $3 million in grants for monetary, marketing, and technology support. Applications are open from May 1-31 at www.ComcastRISE.com, with winners announced in August.
In addition, your local small businesses can learn more about the Comcast RISE program, eligibility requirements, and how to apply by attending free information sessions being held by Comcast RISE community partner organizations, including the Bellevue Chamber, Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA), Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, and Tabor 100.

Commerce has launched an online tariff information and resource guide in response to questions and confusion around recently implemented federal tariffs. The resource webpage includes export-related support from across communities and at the state and federal levels to help businesses better understand tariffs and how to adapt to changing trade policy.
