Nowruz Celebration

This event is to celebrate Persian New Year and the first day of Spring. There will be lots of activities, especially for kids. These include face painting, balloon art, magic show. Wheels and Reels Winter-Spring Drive-In Movies

Enjoy a night out under the stars at Juanita Beach Park with the Spring Drive-in Movie Series.
The parking lot opens at 6:00 PM and the movie starts at 7:00 PM. $20 per vehicle, pre-registration is required.

At the Crossroads of Classical Music, Jazz, and Folk

Join for this listen-and-guess performance of works by George Gershwin, Frederic Chopin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Myroslav Skoryk among others. The program includes jazz standards, works of pre-jazz era composers with a huge impact on jazz genre, classical music influenced by jazz, and our own variations on the themes of Ukrainian and Polish folk songs. Young Frankenstein, The Musical!

It's Alive! Juanita High School is bringing Mel Brook's MONSTER of a musical to the stage. Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a lovely lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors.
With such memorable tunes as "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and "Puttin' on the Ritz," Young Frankenstein is scientifically proven, monstrously good entertainment.

This season we honor Henry Mancini’s 100th birthday with new arrangements of his classic hits: Moon River, Charade, Dreamsville, Slow Hot Wind (Lujon), Pink Panther, Days of Wine and Roses, Touch of Evil, Two For The Road, Romeo & Juliet (A Time For Us), Mr. Lucky, and Peter Gunn.
Bill Anschell is a jazz pianist and composer. He has recorded seven CDs as a leader, and performed or recorded with many jazz greats. His original compositions and piano work are prominently featured on Freelon's Grammy Award-nominated recording Shaking Free (Concord Records) and her CBS recordings Heritage and Listen. His own CDs have received extensive national airplay and critical acclaim. His compositions have appeared in many films and television series, including "The West Wing," "The Wire," "Bloodline," and "NCIS: LA." You can find out more information here.

PopUpStoryWalk is returning to Kirkland Urban this spring! Fox and the Bike Ride by Seattle-based author Corey R. Tabor will be available to view (and read!) for FREE at Kirkland Urban between February 21- March 16, 2024. The story begins in the lobby of the 400 Urban Plaza Building (by the blue elevators). Families are encouraged to participate any time during daylight hours. PopUpStoryWalk is a local organization committed to getting kids outside and reading and is presented in partnership with Arts of Kenmore.

Judging Criteria for Live Pitch: Winners of the competition will be announced following the live pitch event. There will be one $5,000 winner in each category: People’s Choice, Start-Up, and Expansion.
