Open Mic Night for Songwriters

Music educator and songwriter Ailisa Newhall invites musicians of all ages and abilities to perform in and enjoy an evening of encouragement, celebration, and comradery at the Kirkland Performance Center. “This event aims to inspire songwriters to showcase either a fresh composition or revisit an old favorite for a new audience.”

Kirkland Arts Center Winter Quarter Registration

Take a winter art class at Kirkland Arts Center in ceramics, printmaking, painting, drawing, and more! The arts center offers small classes, hands-on instruction with practicing artists in a community-focused visual arts school with classes for adults, teens, and youth at diverse levels from beginning to advanced.   

Registration is available online (24/7) and in-person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Education Office (3rd floor of the Arts Center) located at 620 Market Street, Kirkland, WA 98033.

MLK Jr. Day of Service

Hosted by: Green Kirkland Partnership

Volunteer with the Green Kirkland Partnership for a day of habitat stewardship on MLK Jr. Day on Monday January 15, 2024 in Kirkland Parks.

Volunteers are needed to help restore critical habitat by removing invasive plants such as blackberry or ivy, planting native plants, and pitching-in with mulching and weeding. With your help, your parks will have healthy and thriving natural areas for years to come!

• Edith Moulton Park - Monday, January 15 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

• South Norway Hill Park - Monday, January 15 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Immerse yourself in soothing sounds created by singing bowls, gongs, and chimes to reduce stress and promote a sense of balance and well-being. Register now for a fun way to soothe your nerves!

Arrive 10 minutes early with a yoga mat, blanket, pillows, and water to ensure your comfort. Dress in cozy layers and come with an open mind for this immersive and tranquil experience Note: Doors will close promptly at 6:30 pm so as not to disturb the experience for others.

Lambros Lambrou, Pianist

Presented by: Stage 7 Pianos

Lambros studied the piano at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, UK and went on to study Mathematics at Cambridge and Warwick universities. Lambros was a BBC Young Musician of the Year national semi-finalist, and winner of the Bromsgrove Young Musicians Festival. He also opened the Mananan Music Festival in the Isle of Man under BBC sponsorship, performing the full cycle of Olivier Messiaen's Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus. He is currently a Software Engineer at Google.

Wheels and Reels Winter and Spring Drive-In Movies

Location: Juanita Beach Park, 9703 NE Juanita Drive 

Enjoy a night out under the stars at Juanita Beach Park with our Winter and Spring Drive-in Movie Series.

The parking lot opens at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. $20 per vehicle, pre-registration is required.
