Supervise children in a variety of after-school camp activities. Peter Kirk After School Camp is located at the Peter Kirk Community Center, 352 Kirkland Ave.
This camp will host up to 25 campers daily and cater to children in grades K-5. Spend time outdoors (weather permitting) playing games, going on walks, doing arts and crafts, helping with homework, and having fun!

Teens ages 13-19 are invited to Teen Night at the North Kirkland Community Center on August 26th for a night of video game competition.
Choose your character! Fight your way to the top using your favorite player in our Super Smash Bros Night. We will be using our GIANT LED Screen for this tournament where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will win a prize every round! Characters will be chosen in randomized order each round. There will be outdoor yard games in the field to play as well as extra seating for those who choose to watch, as all are welcome! Snacks and drinks will also be provided for teens. It's a dog's day in Kirkland! Bring Fido for a splash and play day at the Peter Kirk Pool followed by some off-leash fun at Lee Johnson Ballfield!
Visit vendor booths from dog businesses, rescue groups and visit the Cascadia Pizza food truck.

The 2022 season of the Juanita Friday Market (JFM) has one month left. The exciting part is that there are five (5) Fridays in September this year, providing five more weeks to get fresh produce and flowers along with the baked goods, beverages, hot foods, and crafts you have enjoyed all summer.
Parkshore Juanita Bay will continue to sponsor live entertainment, and the Kid’s Booth, sponsored by Kirkland Kids Dentistry, will continue to have crafts for the kids.

Teen & Family Kayak Adventure at Waverly Beach Park
Join Trackers Guilds for an outdoor water adventure launching from Waverly Beach Park! Explore Lake Washington and Yarrow Bay by kayak and stop for lunch at a local Kirkland park (pre-packaged lunch is not included and is to be provided by participants). Learn essential watercraft techniques and water safety skills. Discover wildlife in and along beautiful waterways: eagles, osprey, deer, otters, and many more! This program is offered for youth age 12 and older plus an adult family member(s).

The City of Kirkland is seeking community volunteers to serve on a Parks Funding Exploratory Committee (PFEC). Over the past year, Kirkland community members have told the City they want more park facilities and recreational opportunities.
To accelerate these improvements, the City is exploring parks and recreation ballot measure options for November 2023. PFEC will meet twice a month on Thursday evenings from September 2022 through February 2023. The Committee will compile and make recommendations to City Council in the spring of 2023.
Apply to join the PFEC today. The online application will be open until August 25, 2022. Committee members will be announced the first week of September. For more information and to apply, visit www.kirklandwa.gov/Parks2023Ballot.

The City of Kirkland is now accepting proposals for operators for the Kirkland Teen Union Building (KTUB).
Proposals will be accepted until Friday, September 30, 2022, at 5PM.
The City desires to operate the KTUB building as a model teen center, offering comprehensive youth programming for youth in sixth to twelfth grade with expanded service levels. For more information about the RFP or KTUB, visit www.kirklandwa.gov/KTUB.
