Make A Difference! Apply for a City Advisory Board by May 4

Apply for a City Advisory Board Position May 4

For anyone who has wanted to have a voice in important decisions that affect Kirkland and work with others to make a positive difference in the community, the City of Kirkland strongly encourages applying for a city advisory board by May 4, 2021. There are opportunities to fill vacancies on several of its advisory boards and commissions which are responsible for formulating new ideas, gathering information, hearing and receiving public comments, analyzing complex issues, and making recommendations for specific projects and policies.

Interested Kirkland residents, or those meeting the eligibility requirements, are invited to apply by submitting an application to the City Clerk by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Eligibility requirements differ for each board or commission. Visit the Current Recruitment Positions page or call the City Clerk’s Office at 425-587-3190 to learn more about each board and find the community service application. Members of the advisory boards are appointed by the City Council. Virtual interviews will be held on the evenings of May 24 and 25, 2021.

Calling All Kirkland Teens: Please Take the Needs Assessment Survey

Calling All Teens for Survey!

The Kirkland Youth Council is conducting its first ever needs assessment survey to better understand and hear from their peers. This feedback will be used to shape the workplan for the Youth Council as well as the youth-related services and programs the City offers. All teens who live, attend school, or spend time in Kirkland are encouraged to complete the survey. Each participant will be offered one hour of community service for their time spent on the survey. Reponses will be collected through April 30, 2021. For more information, please contact Regi Schubiger, City of Kirkland Youth Services Coordinator at RSchubiger@kirklandwa.gov.
