Kirkland Summerfest is an exhilarating three day celebration of art, music and community spirit. Now entering its seventh season, Kirkland Summerfest offers open-air activities and unique family attractions. Enjoy a progressive mix of local and regional artists of all disciplines with multiple performance programs at various venues and spaces along the waterfront and in downtown Kirkland.

40th Annual Kirkland Summer Concert Series

Thursday Evening Concerts | July 5—August 16 | 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Marina Park | www.kirklandsummerconcerts.weebly.com 

The Children’s Concerts series on Tuesday mornings is one of the only child-themed outdoor concert series in the area. On Thursday evenings, watch the sun set over Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountains while enjoying a picnic in the park complemented by toe-tapping music at the Evening Concerts. Suggested $2 donation. 

Carillon Point Outdoor Movie Nights

Movies will begin at dusk; the plaza will be open one hour prior for seating. Recommended $5.00 donation to Hopelink. Popcorn, beverages, and candy will be available for cash purchase or come early for dinner at Carillon Point restaurants.

Discover Kirkland's vibrant art experience with the Kirkland Art Walk, held the second Friday of each month. Stroll through galleries and other participating businesses for an exploration of art, music, wine and coffee.

Stage 7 Pianos: Concert by Joey Curtin and Greg Starr

Solo Piano artists Joey Curtin and Greg Starr will be performing original compositions at Stage 7 Pianos. Jasmine Kinney, guest violinist from San Francisco, will be joining Curtin on some of her repertoire. Both Starr and Curtin are award-winning pianists in the solo piano genre with a fusion of jazz, classical and Americana styles. You can hear their recordings on Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music and Public Radio.

Footloose

Studio East is excited to bring the hit musical Footloose to the stage this summer as its annual teen musical! Based on the 1984 film, this musical follows an eccentric teenager as he moves to a small middle-American town where dance is forbidden. He rallies a gang of friends to help him defy the town and create a true rock n' roll prom.

Hamed Nikpay

Iranian American Community Alliance (IACA) is proud to present  Hamed Nikpay, as the kick-off to the 12th Annual Seattle Iranian Festival weekend celebration! A fusion vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and song writer, Hamed Nikpay has been a pioneering and experimental artist for over a decade. His music transcends all boundaries and genres. It is an artful transformation of Classical Persian melodies and more.

This performance is designed to give an opportunity for choreographers and dancers to collaborate, create, and share their art. Most of the pieces are premieres, and the others are curated for their unique and explorative nature. This program is designed to show a diversity in style while employing a common theme of relationship dynamics.

Jr Softball World Series

Junior Softball World Series

Held annually in Kirkland—teams from around the world will compete this August in the weeklong Junior League Softball World Series Championship. Opening Day begins Sunday, July 29. Championship playoffs will be held Saturday, August 4, broadcast by ESPN. Free.


Park to Park Open Water Swim

August 26 | 7:30 a.m. | Swim ends at O.O. Denny Park | www.parktoparkswim.com

Join the 12th anniversary of this event! The park to park swim is a fun, noncompetitive 1.42-mile swim across Lake Washington from Matthews Beach in Seattle to O.O. Denny Park in Kirkland. Proceeds from the swim benefit the Emergency Patient Assistance Fund at Seattle Children’s Hospital. See website for more information.

 

Sprinkler Park

Thursdays | 12 to 3 p.m. | Lee Johnson Field in Downtown Kirkland | Free

This summer at Lee Johnson Field Kirkland Parks will host Sprinkler Park Thursdays. A variety of sprinklers, suitable for all ages, will be set up for everyone to enjoy and cool off from the summer heat! All ages welcome! Children 10 and under must be supervised by an adult. Please note: Temperatures must be above 70 degrees for Sprinkler Park to be open. Please call our inclement weather hotline at 425-587-3335 for program information.


Splash into Summer Passport
