Come out and cheer for a super group of talented youngsters! Teams from around the world will compete in the week-long Little League Junior Softball World Series Championship. Nakisa Entertainment presents the stage performance of Aref Nameh by Iraj Mirza. This play features the work of Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam & Fared Shafinury. Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam is a world renowned dancer and choreographer who has dazzled audiences with his artistic, theatrical, and interpretative dance performances throughout the world. He has a degree in History of Art and Theatre from University of Paris VIII and was a permanent member of the Comédie-Française for many years. Step into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, this stage version includes all of the wonderful songs you grew up with. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Talk with Dr. Susan Ferguson of the Seattle Children’s Research Institute while she discusses her work on unraveling the complexity of the brain and its role in addiction. One of the primary goals of her research is to help understand the causes of these diseases and to explore new avenues for treatment.

Kids ages 3–12 can swim, bike and run in a triathlon just for them! This noncompetitive, nontimed event provides an excellent opportunity for youth to experience the sport of triathlon. The Kids’ Triathlon includes a 50-yard swim in Lake Washington, a 1/2-mile bike ride, and a 400-yard run. All segments will be in the park, so parents can rest easy and spectators can catch all the fun. Race is noncompetitive. Participants will receive a swim cap, shirt and ribbon. Registration deadline is September 11. Day of event registration available at 9:30 a.m. on site; however, participants are encouraged to register prior to the event. Fee $32.00 includes tax.
