Development and Growth
The practice of developing ourselves and our staff at all levels helps prepare the County for the future. Some benefits include valuing the unique contributions everyone brings, being adaptive to change, and continuity of service delivery to customers in our communities and within the county.
One strategy includes an awareness of each person’s strengths and to intentionally develop people with various identities and experiences – all aligning to organizational needs. It means employees can thrive when they are equipped and prepared to bring their best. It sets them up for success and empowers them with increased engagement, competence, and confidence.
Mixed age, multi-generational teams are the norm at King County so it is important to value the variety of knowledge and perspectives that every level of experience brings. Learning can take many forms, including networking by attending our workshops. See opportunities in this newsletter and below.
Leading the Way workshops are a unique opportunity to meet peers from all across King County to network and grow your leader skills. All are certified/approved for SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs).
