Tips include honing self-awareness, seeking feedback, and learning from others. When supporting others’ development, opportunities should be applied equitably. That includes access to resources, as well as fostering an environment that values the whole person. This approach grows capacity for desired skills in addition to cultivating strengths. Read this article about how mutual trust can increase individual and team empowerment. There is not one-size-fits all and everyone possesses a uniqueness that is ever evolving.

The knowledge gap for new managers and supervisors on how to use PeopleSoft’s Manager Self Service module is about to get smaller. In an effort to gain insight into how current King County managers and supervisors use the module, the BRC Training Team sent a survey to all King County managers and supervisors – 250 responses were received.
The results were clear, many agreed their biggest pain points were the time approval process, difficulty with the PeopleSoft interface, and feeling like they didn’t have enough training or access to educational resources. This feedback has resulted in the creation of a new on-demand e-learning course, PeopleSoft for Managers and Supervisors. The course is a comprehensive learning experience across four main modules covering things like:
- Basic PeopleSoft navigation
- Commonly used Manager Self Service tiles
- The time approval process (complete with an interactive software simulation!), and
- Helpful tips and resources
This new course is now live in NeoGov, check it out or enroll by clicking this link.
