Appreciation
Research shows that appreciation is a top driver of employee engagement and when employees are recognized, they are 2.7 times more likely to be highly engaged. Leaders can leverage the power of appreciation to motivate individuals, build a strong team culture, retain employees, and model the County’s value of we respect all people.
Team appreciation, which has many of the same benefits as employee appreciation, is just as important in building a strong team culture where every person can thrive. Lean into the County’s we are one team value by recognizing shared accomplishments and teamwork. Appreciating your team will positively impact the way they communicate and collaborate with one another. For more information and team appreciation ideas, have a look at Rally Bright’s article, The Difference Between Team Recognition and Employee Recognition.
Another great way to recognize and appreciate employees, while modeling the True North and Values, is to use the County’s kudos cards - remember to share them with members of your team so they can recognize peers as well!
