You
may have heard that Express Toll lanes are coming to I-405 later
this year and asked yourself "How does this affect my vanpool?"
The
short answer is it doesn't!
The
longer answer is that all vanpools that travel on I-405 between Bellevue and
Lynnwood will be exempt from the tolls, regardless of vehicle occupancy.
All
affected vanpools will receive a free transponder for their van when WSDOT gets closer to tolling, which is expected to start in Fall 2015. Once you
receive the transponder, all you need to do is affix it to the windshield behind
the rear view mirror. No account to set up. No forms to fill out.
