Service Advisory – The bus stop on 4th Av between Union & Pike streets will close on Nov 5

In response to customer input and real time observations, Metro and its
regional partners are taking action to alleviate congestion
along Fourth

Avenue and Olive Way, and to facilitate the improved operation of buses

in the downtown Seattle core area.

Starting Monday, November 5, the bus stop on Fourth Avenue between
Union and Pike streets will be closed in order to facilitate right turns onto
Pike Street for all traffic.

All Metro, Community Transit and Sound Transit buses that currently serve
the Fourth and Union stop will stop instead one block north, in the block
between Pike and Pine streets, before continuing on to their regular routes
east on Olive Way or north on Fourth Avenue. Prior to Pike St, these routes
will serve all their usual 4th Av bus stops.

Bus routes that will no longer stop at 4th and Union are:
- Metro routes 111, 114, 210, 212, 214, 215 & 217
-
Community Transit routes 402, 405, 410, 412, 413, 415, 416,
   417, 421, 422, 424, 425 & 435

-
Sound Transit Express routes 510, 511, 512, 513, 554, 590,
   592, 594 & 595

Additionally, and also starting November 5, Routes 212 and 217 will have
revised routing after leaving 4th Av and Pike St. Instead of turning east onto
Olive Way, they will continue on 4th Av and serve their last stop just north of
Stewart St. Their southbound routing is not affected.

Metro expects this service revision to help all Fourth Avenue routes operate
more efficiently and realize improved travel times.

Your patience as we implement these revisions and work to enter the information

into our systems is appreciated.

Thanks for riding and for using Metro’s services.
