Temporary beach closure to be followed by Mercer Slough Bike Trail closure with signed detours in place
Beginning as early as October 5, King County’s contractor will begin preparation work to reline the existing pipe along the Bellevue shoreline between Enatai Beach Park and Sweyolocken Boat Launch.
As early as October 5, the swim beach, playground, boat house, and dock at Enatai Beach Park will close to allow crews to safely move equipment and prepare existing access points for relining.
Then, beginning as early as October 12, crews will temporarily close the Mercer Slough Bike Trail as they access and prepare the pipeline for relining. Signed detours will guide people walking and biking around the closure using nearby neighborhood streets along 112th Avenue SE, 113th Avenue SE, Bellevue Way SE, and 118th Avenue SE.
These closures will remain in place for the duration of relining work to allow crews to safely complete the work. We will update you when the trail, swim beach, playground, boat house, and dock at Enatai Beach Park reopen. See maps to the side and below.

Relining of the existing pipeline
Relining work involves installing a temporary sewer diversion pipe at Enatai Beach Park to maintain sewer services while construction crews line the existing pipe. Relining the pipe will extend its service life without needing to fully replace it. In mid-October when all prep work for relining has been completed and the temporary diversion pipe is in place; crews can begin relining the existing pipe.
