It's Salmon SeeSon again

Environmental Education & Engagement Programs
Department of Natural Resources and Parks

See Salmon – the SEEson is back!

The Salmon SEEson program has kicked off its 20th year and it is prime salmon spotting time! Come see salmon in local streams and rivers as they return this fall. Explore the map to find self-guided viewing locations as well as in-person interpretive viewing near you!

Enjoy a new PopUp StoryWalk at Brightwater

Come walk the trails at Brightwater Center and enjoy an illustrated story entitled Drainy Days, written by Leigh Simmons & Kris Bennett. The story was inspired by the real adventures of a dedicated group of Adopt-a-Drain students and teachers in Minneapolis Public Schools, which also includes a QR code at the end to adopt a storm drain near you!

Volunteer at a Local Park

King County Parks leads an average of 10,000 volunteers a year performing restoration, park improvement and building and maintaining trails. Each program weaves environmental education into the event. Join Us!

Join Halloween Family Fun

Come to Brightwater Center and dig up the dirt on decomposition and compost at the Spooky Soils program on October 31st. Visit our events calendar for information on all upcoming events!

Celebrate World Toilet Day

Join us at Brightwater Center for a day that celebrates all things potty related! World Toilet Day is celebrated each year on November 19th to inspire action to tackle sanitation issues. Come to this family friendly event where you can tour a water treatment plant (must be 9 years old) or take part in fun hands-on activities like paper-pot making, exploring microbes and going on a scavenger hunt! Check it out!
