Nighttime closure of eastbound I-90 Exit 9 ramp begins as early as October 5 |
|
Expect brief daytime trail delays during access ramp construction
Temporary access point installation
As early as October 5, crews will begin preparing for upcoming relining work between Sweyolocken Boat Launch and Enatai Beach Park. In order to perform this work, crews will need to create an access point to the eastbound I-90 Exit 9 ramp. The eastbound I-90 exit ramp will be closed nightly from 11 pm to 3 am through October 7 so crews can install crane mats and equipment at this access point. Once equipment is in place, work on the access point will continue during daytime hours.
People walking and biking on the trail during the day may experience brief delays when equipment is present. Flaggers will direct pedestrians and cyclists during these times to maintain safe access.

Upcoming trail closure and pipe relining
After access preparation is complete, King County’s contractor will begin additional preparation work to reline the existing pipe along the Bellevue shoreline between Enatai Beach Park and Sweyolocken Boat Launch. This work includes installing a temporary sewer diversion pipe to maintain sewer services during relining. Once the bypass pipe is in place, crews will temporarily close the Mercer Slough Bike trail, with detours in place. A separate notice will be sent when the trail closure schedule is confirmed.
