Expect intermittent single lane alternating traffic
As early as September 22, crews will stripe the roadway across North Mercer Island project work areas 1–6 and Enatai work areas near Enatai Beach Park, in roadway segments restored during sewer construction. This work is part of final restoration for the North Mercer Island/Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project serving North Mercer Island, Enatai, and Beaux Arts Village. This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled.
Crews will progress from the North Mercer Pump Station and head east towards Bellevue, moving through the North Mercer Island work areas toward Enatai at the following locations:
- The intersection of Southeast 24th Street and 81st Avenue Southeast
- North Mercer Way between Southeast 26th Street and Shorewood Drive
- The intersection of North Mercer Way and Southeast 35th Street
- Southeast 35th Place between East Mercer Way and Briarwood Lane
Single lane alternating traffic with flaggers will be in place at affected intersections during this work. Striping is expected to take approximately two days to complete, and flaggers will move with the crews as they progress through the work areas.
No temporary parking or access restrictions are expected during this work.
Please follow all posted signage drive slowly, and follow direction from flaggers for safe access.

What to expect:
- Approved work hours are 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday.
- All work will be performed in the public right-of-way.
- Noise, dust, and vibrations typical of an active construction project.
- Flaggers and single-lane alternating traffic during work
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
- Garbage, recycling, composting, and mail service will be maintained.
