We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and small businesses and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through November. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located toward the bottom of the list.
1. 4Culture Collections Care
Applications are due Wednesday, September 23 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Collections Care grant program supports the work of King County non-profit organizations and Tribes to preserve culturally and/or historically significant heritage materials for the public good. Eligible uses include the care and long-term preservation of historical and cultural materials, artifacts, and archival records that are accessible to the public and/or accessible to a specific cultural community, purchase of materials for preservation, long-term digital preservation of archival materials, and more. Grants range from $2,000 to $15,000.

2. 4Culture Arc Artist Fellowship
Applications are due Wednesday, September 30 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Arc Artist Fellowship provides $15,000 awards and modest promotional support to emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Fellowship funds can be used to offset expenses related to things like rent or mortgage payments, childcare, health care, transportation, food, space rental, legal support, equipment, materials, workshop fees, residencies, community support, and more. A panel of local artists and art professionals reviews all eligible applications based on established criteria.

3. WA Department of Ecology Water Quality Combined Funding
Applications are due Wednesday, September 30 @ 5 p.m. Apply now through Ecology’s Administration of Grants and Loans (EAGL) system!
Details: The Water Quality Combined Funding Program funds projects that improve and protect water quality throughout Washington. The program combines grants and loans from state and federal funding sources. Between $100 million $200 million is available annually and award sizes vary. Eligible organizations include counties, cities, and towns, tribal governments, special purpose districts, conservation districts, and nonprofits who qualify for section 319 grants.
Eligible projects include planning, design, and construction of wastewater facilities, stormwater facilities, and onsite sewage systems, watershed management, source pollution control, and implementing salmon recovery and orca recovery plans.

4. King County Promoting First Relationships Agency Training Project
Applications are due Thursday, October 1 @ 2 p.m. Apply now through Agiloft!
Details: King County Public Health is requesting applications from community-based organizations to participate in Promoting First Relationships Agency Training. The training prepares organization staff to deliver services that improve school readiness and children’s social-emotional development, nurture caregiver-child relationships, and train and coach other staff in the Promoting First Relationships method. Organizations will be compensated for costs necessary for staff to attend the training.

5. Washington State Microenterprise Association Collaborative Projects

Details: The Washington State Microenterprise Association is dedicated to strengthening business technical assistance providers as they engage with and assist the smallest businesses to grow sustainably, equitably, and financially throughout Washington state. This opportunity funds collaborative projects that engage 2 to 5 strategic partners to provide business training series, training workshops/webinars, technical assistance, and/or access to financing for small businesses. Grants are $10,000 with a 6-month contract period.

6. WA Department of Commerce Capital Project Capacity-Building Grant Program

Details: The WA Department of Commerce’s Community Capacity Initiative is accepting applications for its Capital Project Capacity-Building Grant Program. These grants will help eligible organizations strengthen their capacity and advance viable capital projects that directly benefit communities in Washington. Funding may support a critical next step in an early-stage capital project, including targeted technical assistance and predevelopment activities. Priority will be given to projects in overburdened communities that address housing, energy or infrastructure needs and to applicants and communities with limited financial capacity.
Washington local governments can receive up to $200,000, federally recognized tribal governments can receive up to $200,000, and federally designated nonprofits registered in Washington can receive up to $50,000.

7. The Center for Behavior and Climate Behavior Change for Climate Action
Applications are due Sunday, November 1. Email infocbc@bds.com to express interest and request the application.
Details: Behavior Change for Climate Action aims to increase the use of behavior change approaches in existing and new climate action projects. Eligible project areas of interest include collective or individual actions on energy conservation, renewable energy, and electrification of cars, trucks, buses, public action (e.g., policy support, volunteering, protesting, get out the vote), food choices, and blue carbon restoration. Organizations will receive $7,000 to apply behavior change to an existing or new climate action project, technical assistance, and training on how to apply evidence-based behavior change to their project.

8. Front and Centered HEAL Capacity Grant Program
Applications are due Wednesday, November 18 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: These Healthy Environment for All (HEAL) capacity grants are intended to support community organizations whose capacity building efforts are aligned with and will advance the goals of the HEAL Act. Non-profit, 501(c)(3) community-based organizations (and organizations that they fiscally sponsor) throughout Washington State who work with overburdened and vulnerable communities are encouraged to apply. There are 18 available capacity grants in the amount of $20,000 each.

9. Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Grants

Details: The Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Grant is part of Verizon's commitment to equip one million small businesses with the tools and resources they need to thrive in today's digital economy. In partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Verizon will select 10 small businesses monthly from June to December 2026 to receive $10,000 grants.

10. Department of Natural Resources & Parks Community Partnerships and Grants

Details: The Community Partnerships and Grants Program works with community organizations to develop a wide range of projects on King County Parks property. King County contributes the use of land, and as available, may provide a small grant or funding for the project. Community partners contribute other necessary resources. Partners often take on an element of maintenance and programming of the facility through a long-term agreement with Parks.

11. Best Starts Child Care Subsidy
First there will be an initial eligibility form to fill out; if you are eligible, you will be invited to fill out the full application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link!
Details: Since launching in 2022, the Best Starts Child Care Subsidy has served over 2,000 children and has already resulted in positive impacts for families. A survey of families receiving the Best Starts subsidy showed families had more freedom to pursue career goals or advancements; saw reduced stress and improved quality of life; and had increased ability to pay for basic needs, including food, healthcare, childcare, formula, diapers, and transportation.
Families may be eligible if they:
- Live in King County
- Fall below 85% State Median Income (see table on website)
- Are not eligible for the State Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidy program
- Have one or more children (12 or younger)
- Choose a licensed childcare provider

12. Medic One Foundation Community AED Grants

Details: Medic One Foundation offers a limited number of grants for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in public areas such as local government facilities, community centers, playfields, parks, and law enforcement vehicles within King and Snohomish counties. Priority will be given and grants awarded based upon demonstrated financial need, population served, location, and potential impact. Organizations must be a nonprofit or public entity.
