Crews will check wetland and soil conditions. They will also confirm the location of existing or new utilities.
Surveying will take place throughout the full project area (see map).
 Surveying will take place throughout the entire project area. The segment numbers on this map show different areas of the project, not the surveying order.
Crews will use machines to dig deep holes. Then they will collect information about soil conditions and existing or new utilities.
What to know about utility surveys:
- Crews will work in or next to roads. You may experience temporary impacts to walking, biking, or driving.
- Lane closures may last up to 8 hours.
- Flaggers will help people walk, bike, and drive around the closures.
- We will maintain access for emergency and service vehicles.
- Work hours are between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- There will be increased noise and vibrations while machines dig holes.
- Crews will fill holes and reopen lanes and sidewalks when they finish.
- Surveying will take about 3 weeks to complete.
Crews will use hand shovels to collect soil samples. These samples will be used to check if there have been any changes from the last wetland survey done in 2022.
The schedule for this work may change. Check our project website for updates.
What to know about wetland surveys:
- There will be no impacts to walking, biking, or driving.
- Work hours are between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Surveying will take about 1 week to complete.
- Surveying will happen at one location at a time.
- Surveying at each location may take up to 2 hours per location.

King County will replace 4.5 miles of sewer pipes in Redmond and Bellevue. These pipes are more than 50 years old. The new pipes will support the growing community. This regional sewer upgrade will keep service safe and reliable for many years in the future.
