Thank you to Wai-Ping Li-Landis!
After nearly three decades with King County Superior Court, Wai-Ping retired and is off to enjoy her next journey. She expressed her gratitude for volunteers and staff she worked with over the years. She requested that we convey her sincere appreciation for the volunteers and noted:
The work we do is very important yet challenging, please continue to take care of yourself and one another.
You will be greatly missed, Wai-Ping!

Reunification Day Success
The Reunification Day event was co-hosted by King County Parents Supporting Parents and Casey Family programs. It was supported by King County Superior Court staff and judicial officers and was well attended with 70 attendees and 30 reunified kiddos!
Other local community agencies also came together to celebrate with families, such as Amara, King County Dependency CASA, Coordinated Care, DCYF, Kindering/CHERISH and Treehouse.
Thanks to CASA staff, Shellie Roush and Bryan Abejon, and CASA volunteers (you know who you are!) for hosting the booth and sharing information about the CASA program for those who stopped by. Thank you, Friends of CASA, for sponsoring the tic-tac-toe game and prizes!

Please Share Your Experiences!
Every CASA volunteer has a unique story. Whether it was what inspired you to become a volunteer, a lesson you've learned along the way, or the personal impact the experience has had, your perspective helps tell the story of King County Dependency CASA in a meaningful way.
We're inviting you to share your story through our new Share Your CASA Volunteer Story form. Your responses may be featured in program communications; including newsletters, social media, presentations, recruitment materials, graphics, and other outreach efforts to help raise awareness of our program and inspire future CASA volunteers. Some stories may be shared anonymously or with your first name and last initial. Volunteers who are interested may also choose to be considered for a future Volunteer Spotlight.
The form only takes a few minutes to complete, and we'd love to hear from you. Click here to get started!
Thank you for the time, compassion, and dedication you bring to the children and families you serve. Your voice can help others better understand the impact of CASA volunteers and encourage more people to join this important work.
Not sure what to write? That's okay! Whether your story is a few sentences or a longer reflection, we'd love to hear from you. Every story matters.

CASA Coffee & Connection
Friday, October 16, 2026
11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Boon Boona Coffee
1223 East Cherry Street, Seattle, WA
Join us for CASA Coffee Connection, an informal opportunity to connect with fellow CASA volunteers, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Our newest cohort of CASA volunteers are invited to attend, before their swearing in ceremony, making this a great opportunity to meet and welcome the next group joining our program.
For active CASA's we’ll have a few guided conversation prompts and an opportunity for those who are comfortable to share their CASA volunteer story, including what inspired them to become a CASA volunteer, a meaningful moment from their experience, or what they wish others knew about the role through our digital "Tell Us Your CASA Story" form, physical pen & paper, or interview style with a CASA staff member. Sharing is completely optional, and we ask that volunteers not include names or identifying case information.
Details can be found on the King County CASA website events page. We hope you can join us! Please reach out to Sarah Childs at schilds@kingcounty.gov if you have any questions.
