We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through September. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located toward the bottom of the list.
1. King County Youth Healing Project
Applications are due Friday, August 14 @ 5 p.m. (EXTENDED DEADLINE!) Apply now through Agiloft!
Details: The Youth Healing Project is a youth-led community funding effort that provides resources and support to organizations and young leaders advancing solutions that improve the mental health, connection, and well-being of young people ages 14-24 in King County.
There are two separate applicant tracks:

Youth applicants are young people between ages 14-24 who are interested in leading projects either collectively with a group of young people or on their own. They should be interested in youth mental health and growing their leadership skills. Youth applicants can apply for up to $9,999.

Organization applicants are organizations within King County well suited to support and mentor a group of young people in leadership development as well as peer-to-peer mental health support. These organizations will have experience working with and training young people to lead their own projects as well as learn more about supporting the wellbeing of other young people. Organization applicants can apply for up to $50,000.

2. Inatai Foundation Campaigns, Litigation, Issues & Policy, Infrastructure Opportunities, and Safety and Resilience Grants
Applications are due Tuesday, August 18 @ 3 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Inatai Foundation is running a shared application process for three different grants: Campaigns, Litigation, Issues & Policy, Infrastructure Opportunities, and Safety and Resilience Grants.
Campaigns, Litigation, Issues & Policy
- This grant supports Washington organizations and coalitions engaging in community-led, issue-based campaigns that shape public policy and build long-term political power.
- This grant supports: Ballot measure and initiative campaigns, litigation connected to campaign strategy, legislative advocacy, grassroots organizing around a campaign, and polling and research to inform campaign strategy.
- This grant does not support candidate campaigns.
Infrastructure Opportunities
- This grant supports specific power-building efforts to transform systems and structures in specific areas of focus. The areas of focus are: 501(c)(4) Community Power-Building, Civil Rights, Immigrant Justice, Wealth & Asset Creation, Voter & Civic Engagement, and Youth & Student Organizing (youth defined as up to age 30).
NOTE: King County-based non-profits are not eligible for the Safety and Resilience Grants in this round of funding.

3. King County Public Health Multicultural Health Benefits Outreach Funding
Applications are due Wednesday, August 19 @ 2 p.m. Submit application materials via email to cpres-CHS@kingcounty.gov.
Details: King County Public Health is seeking community partners to provide health insurance education and enrollment assistance to Washington state residents. Community-based organizations will conduct outreach to diverse communities and multicultural residents before and during the 2026-2027 Open Enrollment period, which runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. A total of $100,000 in funding is available.

4. WA Department of Commerce Building Communities Fund
Organizations must submit an eligibility test by Tuesday, August 18 @ 4 p.m. Final applications are due Thursday, August 20 @ 4 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Building Communities Fund awards state grants to nonprofits and tribes to help cover costs to buy, build or improve non-residential community and social service facilities. Organizations receive reimbursements for 25% of project costs.
Projects must expand social services or improve their quality/efficiency, serve a distressed community or a substantial number of low-income or disadvantaged people, offer a variety of services that meet multiple community needs, reflect a shared, long-term vision for community growth, need state funding to complete a specific phase (fully funded/finished projects are not eligible), be ready to start and use funds right away, have the long-term ability to manage the project and funds, and have commitments of resources from residents, leaders, businesses, government partners or others.

5. ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant Program

Details: ArtsFund’s Community Accelerator Grant is a $10 million investment in Washington State’s arts and culture sector. The program provides unrestricted grants to Washington cultural organizations, focusing on communities with less access to mainstream funding, including organizations centering BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and rural communities. Applicants must be a nonprofit, fiscally sponsored organization, or tribal entity with an annual operating budget of $1 million or less.

6. YMCA Young Grantmakers Initiative
Applications are due Friday, August 21 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The YMCA Young Adult Grant Advisory Committee is offering up to $25,000 in unrestricted (general operations) funding to nonprofits addressing youth and young adult homelessness in King County. Applicants must be a cerified 501©3 nonprofit, or have a fiscal sponsor with an EID number, use funds to support programs in King County, and provide services which address homelessness and/or housing instability for youth and young adults ages 13-24.

7. 4Culture Landmarks Capital Program
Applicants must submit an Intent to Apply by Thursday, August 27 @ 5 p.m. Final applications are due Thursday, September 10 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: Whether you are an individual owner or represent an organization, if you are the steward of a designated historic landmark property in King County and are working to rehabilitate it, you should consider applying for a Landmarks Capital grant! Projects must have a long-term, sustainable plan for the landmark, follow good preservation principles, begin within a year of receiving funding, and provide a public benefit to residents and visitors of King County.
Projects that center on marginalized communities and that contribute to the diversity of property types and histories represented in King County’s built environment will receive additional consideration. The maximum award amount is $100,000.

8. Department of Community & Human Services Human Services Workforce Stabilization for Current DCHS Providers
Applications are due Monday, August 31 @ 2 p.m. Apply now via Agiloft!
Details: This funding opportunity is available to organizations with active VSHSL or Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS) contracts who are currently providing human services in King County. The purpose of this funding is to improve staff recruitment and retention within these organizations doing vital human service work in our communities. A total of $21.3 million in funding is available.
Funds may be used to support staff, including through increased wages, improved benefits, reduced cost of living subsidies, such as housing, education, childcare or health insurance offsets, hiring bonuses, retention bonuses, and professional development and other training.

9. 4Culture Cultural Support Services Projects

Details: 4Culture’s Cultural Support Services Projects program provides funding for organizations and tribes that improve the quality of life and careers for King County cultural practitioners. Cultural Support Services are investments in the people who lead and sustain the culture and science sectors. A thriving, sustainable workforce strengthens the arts, culture, and science ecosystems and in turn, improves the cultural and science experiences available to the residents and visitors.
Cultural practitioners include artists; administrators, educators, technologists, scientists, professionals, and volunteers of culture and science focused institutions and public agencies; owners or stewards of historic structures and landscapes; culture bearers; technical specialists; and creative professionals and workers with specialized skills needed in the cultural and science ecosystems.
Awards range from $30,000 to $225,000 total ($10,000 to $75,000 per year for three years). Project period extends over three years from project start date.

10. WA Department of Commerce Housing Trust Fund Homeownership Funding
Applications are due Thursday, September 3 @ 3 p.m. Application materials must be submitted electronically via a file sharing site (e.g. GoogleDocs, Dropbox), or directly to HOUapplication@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: The WA Housing Trust Fund supports community-based organizations, housing authorities, federally recognized tribes and local governments in creating new first-time homebuyer opportunities for low-income households in Washington. Eligible activities include the construction of new housing units, purchase and rehabilitation of existing housing units, affordability subsidies and down payment assistance.

11. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Community Health Improvement Grants

Details: The Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Community Health Improvement Grants program partners with nonprofit organizations working to improve health and quality of life in the communities Virginia Mason serves with a focus on vulnerable and underserved populations.
Proposed projects must:
- Address one or more prioritized significant needs in the local hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment, including access to health care, chronic disease prevention, behavioral health, and/or violence prevention.
- Serve identified vulnerable or underserved populations.
- Include two or more collaborating partners with distinct, complementary, and substantive project roles.
Grant projects awards are from $20,000 up to $100,000. Grant project implementation is from April 2027 to March 2028.

12. Department of Natural Resources & Parks Community Partnerships and Grants

Details: The Community Partnerships and Grants Program works with community organizations to develop a wide range of projects on King County Parks property. King County contributes the use of land, and as available, may provide a small grant or funding for the project. Community partners contribute other necessary resources. Partners often take on an element of maintenance and programming of the facility through a long-term agreement with Parks.

13. Best Starts Child Care Subsidy
First there will be an initial eligibility form to fill out; if you are eligible, you will be invited to fill out the full application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link!
Details: Since launching in 2022, the Best Starts Child Care Subsidy has served over 2,000 children and has already resulted in positive impacts for families. A survey of families receiving the Best Starts subsidy showed families had more freedom to pursue career goals or advancements; saw reduced stress and improved quality of life; and had increased ability to pay for basic needs, including food, healthcare, childcare, formula, diapers, and transportation.
Families may be eligible if they:
- Live in King County
- Fall below 85% State Median Income (see table on website)
- Are not eligible for the State Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidy program
- Have one or more children (12 or younger)
- Choose a licensed childcare provider

14. Medic One Foundation Community AED Grants

Details: Medic One Foundation offers a limited number of grants for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in public areas such as local government facilities, community centers, playfields, parks, and law enforcement vehicles within King and Snohomish counties. Priority will be given and grants awarded based upon demonstrated financial need, population served, location, and potential impact. Organizations must be a nonprofit or public entity.

15. Open 4Culture
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Contact the Open 4Culture team at 4open@4culture.org or at (206) 477-9879 to begin the application process!
Details: Open 4Culture is the perfect introduction to 4Culture and grants in general. 4Culture staff will walk applicants through the process and give guidance on submitting strong application materials and responsible, realistic budgets and project plans. The grant awards up to $2,500 for Arts, Heritage, and Historic Preservation projects taking place in 2026.
