We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through September. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located toward the bottom of the list.
1. King County Youth Diversion and Intervention
Applications are due Wednesday, July 15 @ 2 p.m. Apply now through Agiloft!
Details: The purpose of this program is to fund community navigation and restorative justice services to youth and community members who have experienced harm referred by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Applicants must be a non-profit with tax-exempt status, a federally recognized tribe or tribal organization, or a public or government agency. The total funding available is $3 million.

2. WA State Recreation and Conservation Office Planning for Recreation Access
Applications are due Wednesday, July 15 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Planning for Recreation Access program funds projects in communities that lack adequate access to outdoor recreation opportunities. It specifically focuses on diverse urban neighborhoods, small rural communities, and those that are less experienced with the Recreation and Conservation Office’s grant process.
Grants are used to support planning, community engagement, and collaboration between local governments, community-based organizations, and residents to define outdoor recreation needs and prioritize investments to address those needs.
Applicants must be a city, county, or town, tribe, nonprofit, or a special purpose district, such as a park and recreation, conservation, or school district. Examples of typical projects include long-range, comprehensive recreation planning, pre-design for a park or athletic facility, and feasibility study for a park or trail.

3. WA Department of Commerce FIFA Destination Marketing Grants
 Applications are due Friday, July 17 @ 4 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The FIFA Destination Marketing Grant program provides funding to help Washington communities prepare for and capitalize on the tourism and economic opportunities generated by the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Eligible projects may include tourism planning, marketing campaigns, destination assessments, placemaking initiatives, community events and enhancements that improve the visitor experience.
$100,000 of the funding will be dedicated to projects in King County. Applicants must be licensed to do business in the State of Washington, have three years of experience with Washington State tourism and destination marketing related activities, proof of FIFA licensure for live events, partnership agreements with local communities if operating as a facilitating body, and a written endorsement or letter of support from the FIFA host committee or an affiliated lead partner organization.

4. King County Youth Healing Project
Applications are due Tuesday, July 21 @ 5 p.m. Apply now through Agiloft!
Details: The Youth Healing Project is a youth-led community funding effort that provides resources and support to organizations and young leaders advancing solutions that improve the mental health, connection, and well-being of young people ages 14-24 in King County.
There are two separate applicant tracks:

Youth applicants are young people between ages 14-24 who are interested in leading projects either collectively with a group of young people or on their own. They should be interested in youth mental health and growing their leadership skills. Youth applicants can apply for up to $9,999.

Organization applicants are organizations within King County well suited to support and mentor a group of young people in leadership development as well as peer-to-peer mental health support. These organizations will have experience working with and training young people to lead their own projects as well as learn more about supporting the wellbeing of other young people. Organization applicants can apply for up to $50,000.

5. King County WaterWorks Grant Program
 Applications are due Monday, July 20 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The WaterWorks Grant Program provides approximately $6 million in funding every two years to organizations carrying out a variety of water quality improvement projects in the service area for King County's regional wastewater system. In District 3, this includes parts of Woodinville and Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah, and the City of Carnation. Check if your project is in the eligible boundaries here.
There are two different tracks for this grant: the competitive track and the council-allocated track. Both tracks have the same eligibility criteria, and similar applications, but the review and selection process are different. Proposals for the council-allocated track are selected by King County Council.

6. U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Youth Homelessness Grants
Applications are due Thursday, August 10 @ 9:59 p.m. PST. Apply now at this link!
Details: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is accepting applications for two grant programs to address youth homelessness: The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program and Youth Homelessness System Improvement Grants. There’s a total of $144 million available in the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program, and a total of $49 million available in Youth Homelessness System Improvement Grants.

7. ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant Program
 Applications are due Friday, August 21 @ 5 p.m. The application portal will open on Wednesday, July 15. Preview the application here!
Details: ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant is a $10 million investment in Washington State’s arts and culture sector. The program provides unrestricted grants to Washington cultural organizations, focusing on communities with less access to mainstream funding, including organizations centering BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and rural communities. Applicants must be a nonprofit, fiscally sponsored organization, or tribal entity with a less than $1 million annual operating budget.

8. WA Department of Commerce Housing Trust Fund Homeownership Funding
Applications are due Thursday, September 3 @ 3 p.m. Application materials must be submitted electronically via a file sharing site (e.g. GoogleDocs, Dropbox), or directly to HOUapplication@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: The WA Housing Trust Fund supports community-based organizations, housing authorities, federally recognized tribes and local governments in creating new first-time homebuyer opportunities for low-income households in Washington. Eligible activities include the construction of new housing units, purchase and rehabilitation of existing housing units, affordability subsidies and down payment assistance.

9. Department of Natural Resources & Parks Community Partnerships and Grants

Details: The Community Partnerships and Grants Program works with community organizations to develop a wide range of projects on King County Parks property. King County contributes the use of land, and as available, may provide a small grant or funding for the project. Community partners contribute other necessary resources. Partners often take on an element of maintenance and programming of the facility through a long-term agreement with Parks.

10. Best Starts Child Care Subsidy
First there will be an initial eligibility form to fill out; if you are eligible, you will be invited to fill out the full application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link!
Details: Since launching in 2022, the Best Starts Child Care Subsidy has served over 2,000 children and has already resulted in positive impacts for families. A survey of families receiving the Best Starts subsidy showed families had more freedom to pursue career goals or advancements; saw reduced stress and improved quality of life; and had increased ability to pay for basic needs, including food, healthcare, childcare, formula, diapers, and transportation.
Families may be eligible if they:
- Live in King County
- Fall below 85% State Median Income (see table on website)
- Are not eligible for the State Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidy program
- Have one or more children (12 or younger)
- Choose a licensed childcare provider

11. Medic One Foundation Community AED Grants

Details: Medic One Foundation offers a limited number of grants for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in public areas such as local government facilities, community centers, playfields, parks, and law enforcement vehicles within King and Snohomish counties. Priority will be given and grants awarded based upon demonstrated financial need, population served, location, and potential impact. Organizations must be a nonprofit or public entity.

12. Open 4Culture
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Contact the Open 4Culture team at 4open@4culture.org or at (206) 477-9879 to begin the application process!
Details: Open 4Culture is the perfect introduction to 4Culture and grants in general. 4Culture staff will walk applicants through the process and give guidance on submitting strong application materials and responsible, realistic budgets and project plans. The grant awards up to $2,500 for Arts, Heritage, and Historic Preservation projects taking place in 2026.
