Weekend Service Impacts
- Route 21 will be affected in both directions after all Mariners home games; stops on portions of 1st Avenue S will not be served; use alternate stops on 4th Avenue S instead;
- Route 165 will have stop #60455 132nd Avenue SE & SE 263rd Place (southbound) relocated from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 due to construction;

What to know before taking transit to events on the big July 4 holiday weekend
Fireworks, parades, picnics and festivals on the Fourth of July weekend — there’s so much going on in honor of the country’s 250th birthday! Here’s some things to know before stepping onto transit on July 4 to get to your celebration.
King County Metro buses are operating on a Sunday schedule on Friday, July 3, (a holiday for many workers) and will operate a regular Saturday schedule on Saturday, July 4. There are bus reroutes planned in several areas July 4 due to events, such as parades, fun runs and local festivals around the region. Please check our service advisories for your route before traveling.
Trailhead Direct
Routes serving Mount Si and the Issaquah Alps will operate July 3, 4 and 5. See schedules and bus stops on our Trailhead Direct webpage.
Seattle Streetcar
- The First Hill Line will operate regular service July 4.
- The South Lake Union Line will operate extended service hours July 4. Watching fireworks on Lake Union? The last streetcar to Lake Union Park will depart at 9:45 p.m. Note: streetcars will pause service during the Lake Union fireworks display, 10:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
- After the fireworks display, extra streetcars will be on hand, with the last trip to downtown Seattle leaving Lake Union Park at about 11:15 p.m.
Sound Transit will run late night Link light rail service on July 4.

1 Line: The last train to Angle Lake Station will depart from Lynnwood City Center Sation at 1:39 a.m. on July 5. The last train to Lynnwood City Center Station will depart from Federal Way Downtown Station at 1:25 a.m. on July 5.

2 Line: The last train to Downtown Redmond Station will depart from Lynnwood City Center Station at 1:31 a.m. on July 5. The last train to Lynnwood City Center Station will depart from Downtown Redmond Station at 1:27 a.m. on July 5.
- There will be no Sounder service.

The West Seattle route of the King County Water Taxi will operate its regular weekday schedule on July 3 and its regular Saturday schedule on July 4.
- The last boat departing Pier 50 for West Seattle will be at 10:45 p.m. and the last departure from Seacrest in West Seattle will be at 11 p.m.
The Water Taxi’s Vashon route will operate will operate its regular weekday schedule on July 3 and its regular Saturday schedule on July 4.
- The last boat departing Pier 50 Seattle for Vashon will be at 6:30 p.m.
- The last boat departing Vashon will be at 7:05 p.m.

Let’s go USA! Free shuttles, more buses, streetcars, water taxis and trains: SEA26 Match Day travel tips July 6
 Belgium reached the Round of 16 by defeating Senegal. Team USA is back in Seattle after a win over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The match starts at 5 p.m.
Keep your eye on the ball
- Start your match day by planning your trip to the game. Use Metro’s online Trip Planner to plan the best route or call Metro Customer Service at 206-553-3000 for assistance. Representatives are available this Monday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Press 1 for interpreter assistance.

Sign up for Transit Alerts for your favorite routes to receive updates on game day.
- Once you’re at your bus stop, you can use Text for Departures (text your bus stop number to 62550) to see when your bus is expected.
- To see all your trip options in an app on your phone, try Transit or Citymapper. Trip results in these apps include Metro Flex on-demand options where available.

More service: Metro is adding trips on high demand bus routes, operating Metro Flex across 10 areas, and special shuttles with subsidized free fares.

Free rides on the Match Day Shuttle. The shuttle will operate from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The service runs every 3-7 minutes with free rides subsidized by SeattleFWC26. The shuttle will travel along Third Avenue between Seattle Soccer Stadium and the Seattle Center. The shuttle will also have stops that are a short walk, roll or scoot from the other fan festivities locations at Pacific Place and Victory Hall. Free rides on the Waterfront Shuttle that operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with service every 10 minutes with stops on Third Avenue, the International District as well as at Seattle Stadium. The waterfront shuttle is rerouted during match days—the map below will help you navigate the reroutes which will include temporary stops around the match day pedestrian zone. - For riders with mobility issues (wheelchairs or other mobility devices) be sure to take advantage of our Accessible Match Day Shuttle that runs between the International District/Chinatown Link light rail station, Mariners Garage and Seattle stadium’s dedicated ADA entrance.

More service: The Seattle Streetcar is a great way to visit the vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood or Seattle’s South Lake Union community. On match days, First Hill streetcar service will operate from Fifth Avenue and South Jackson Street due to street closures.

Ride Share: Need a connection from your home to a park and ride or a light rail station? Metro is partnering with Uber to provide a limited number of ride vouchers for up to $40 off your trip to and from certain transit locations.

Fares: free on shuttle buses, or $3 on regular service —free for riders 18 and younger.

‘So be it! See to it!’ Bus shelter mural honors acclaimed author Octavia Butler
 Revered science fiction and Afrofuturism author Octavia Butler received international accolades and inspired generations of readers worldwide – and continues to be recognized and beloved in the corner of Lake Forest Park she called home.
Fans now can enjoy a new moment of reflection and remembrance at a Metro bus stop mural honoring Butler, at Ballinger Way Northeast and Northeast 175th Street and across from the largest bookstore in town. The bus stop artwork joins other recognition worthy of a trip to Lake Forest Park that includes visiting Octavia Butler Avenue and a massive mural inside Third Place Commons.
