Celebrate at the Seattle Pride Parade and travel with Metro!
The Seattle Pride Parade is back and more fabulous than ever on Sunday, June 28, with hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend to honor our LGBTQIA+ community—and have a lot of fun. It’s likewise a meaningful moment to observe the ongoing work to advance equity, dignity and support for LGBTQIA+ people.
We’re encouraging everyone to plan ahead and ride transit if they are traveling to or around downtown Seattle to ease their trips.
King County and Metro will again proudly join the parade with our “Ride with Pride” bus surrounded by hundreds of county employees and families. This year we also will feature one of our newest battery-electric buses.
We continue to reaffirm and celebrate our steadfast commitment to diversity, fairness and justice. Our community is strong and tireless, and we support our LGBTQIA+ employees and community members.
Expect congestion and bus reroutes downtown
The event starts at 11 a.m. on Fourth Avenue at Union Street and travels north to Second Avenue and Denny Way. From about 7 a.m. until about 5 p.m., Fourth Avenue in downtown Seattle will be affected by street closures and traffic congestion associated with the parade.
For more information on the parade and Pride Month, visit the Seattle Pride webpage.

New summer transit service makes Golden Gardens easier to reach without a car
Just in time for peak beach season, King County Metro and the City of Seattle will offer Golden Gardens Direct, a new summer transit service providing a direct connection between downtown Ballard and Golden Gardens Park. The pilot project is designed to make one of Seattle’s most popular beach destinations easier to reach without a car while helping reduce traffic congestion and parking demand during the busy summer season.
Golden Gardens Direct will operate daily from June 27 through Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Buses will run every 30 minutes, sharing stops with Route 44 along Market Street and serving new stops on Seaview Avenue and at Golden Gardens Park. The park is open daily from 4 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. through Sept. 30. The pilot project is intended to improve access to Golden Gardens while reducing vehicle traffic and parking demand during the park’s busiest months. The cost to ride is the same as a regular Metro bus ride, $3, and rides are free for youth 18 and under.
