June 2026
King County will survey trees in the project area as early as Monday, July 6. Crews will mark trees with tape, as needed. This work helps us update our tree protection and removal plans. For every tree we remove during construction, we will plant at least one new tree.
We will continue to gather information, work with nearby property owners, and finalize our project designs until we start construction.
Surveying trees now helps with the City of Redmond’s review of our construction permits. Having better information also helps us stay on schedule during construction.

Additionally, near neighbors can expect:
- Surveying along the full project area (see project map and description).
- Two staff surveying trees together.
- Work hours between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- Surveying will begin as early as July 6 and take about two weeks.
- Most surveying will happen in public areas along roads and trails.
- If we need to access private property to survey trees, our property team will reach out to property owners.
- Parking, walking, and driving will stay the same.
The project area starts at NE 85th St near the Redmond City Hall. Then the south end is in the Idylwood neighborhood in Redmond.
