
This weekend, we welcome back one of our most popular programs: Trailhead Direct. This seasonal service provides easy transit access to some of our most popular hiking trails on Mount Si and the Issaquah Alps.
Two different shuttle routes offer stops from Seattle, South Bellevue Light Rail Station, and North Bend and from Seattle, South Bellevue Light Rail Station, and Issaquah. They run on weekends, as well as Memorial Day and Independence Day. Plan your easy trip (without the hassle of driving and parking) and head out to enjoy our beautiful trails!
Kirkland Senior Council's16th Annual Art Show will once again celebrate art and ageless creativity! If you are a Kirkland community member who is 50 and older who would like to show your artwork, request an application from Scouncil@kirklandwa.gov and return it by Friday, May 29. You can submit up to two pieces of artwork in the categories of Oils and Acrylics, Watercolor, Pastels and Drawing, Photography, Quilts, and Other Media.
Whether you are an artist or an art lover, everyone is welcome to attend the art show at Merrill Gardens (14 Main Street South, Kirkland), starting with a reception on June 5 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Attendees can vote for their favorite artwork and winners will be announced at 7:30 PM. Artwork will continue to be displayed in the lobby of Merrill Gardens until June 12 for the community to enjoy!

As hot weather approaches, Energy Smart Eastside has opened applications for their Energy Smart Boost Program, which funds 100% of heat pump purchase and installation costs for income-qualified homeowners. Residents of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, and Sammamish with household incomes below 80% of area median income are eligible. Apply by May 27 and have a more comfortable summer!
