Major decisions are ahead that will shape the future of light rail and transit in our region for years to come, and as a Sound Transit Board Member, I want to make sure South King County voices are part of this conversation.
Join me on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:00 PM at Highline College (Building 2) for a South King County Sound Transit Forum. I’ll be joined by fellow Sound Transit Board Members, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Tukwila Mayor Thomas McLeod. This is a key opportunity to hear updates, ask questions, and share your priorities.
Sound Transit is facing a $34.5 billion funding gap and must update its long-term financial plan and project timeline through the Enterprise Initiative process.
This week, the Sound Transit Board Chair introduced a proposal to realign future projects so they can stay within budget, and the Board will begin discussing these options today, with a final vote expected on May 28. You can find the proposal here.
As a Sound Transit Board Member representing South King County, I’m focused on how these choices impact our communities, and I want to hear directly from you - please join us.
You can also follow along on social media for more frequent updates:
I’m honored to serve as your King County Councilmember and look forward to working with you in the months ahead.
