King County has hired Merlino-Goodfellow Joint Venture (MGJV) to help build the sewer upgrade project.
Construction is still a few years away.
Until then, MGJV will help us plan for construction and shape the design by giving input on:
-
Construction methods: How crews will build the project.
-
Construction schedule: When and where construction will happen.
-
Traffic control: How the project will keep people moving around work areas.
-
Early work: Construction we can do early to prepare the area for upgrading the sewer pipe.
We plan to share more updates as they are available.
King County works hard to spend every dollar responsibly.
On almost all big projects, King County hires builders to help with construction. This typically happens after the design is complete. Bringing the builder onto this project early helps us save time and money.
MGJV will help us plan parts of the project that may be hard to build. They can also recommend building methods that cost less. Early teamwork can reduce design changes, which can delay the project. This helps us stay on schedule and use ratepayer money wisely.
Last chance to join us at the Black Diamond and Covington libraries!
We will host our final library chats in May. We are so thankful for everyone who has talked with us.
During our time at the libraries, we’ve been able to:
- Share project updates.
- Explain how water moves through the system.
- Answer questions from septic users.
- Talk about getting involved at our South Treatment Plant in Renton.
- Gather feedback that we can bring back to the project team.
If you are interested in meeting with us before we wrap these up, join us on:
