We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! Federal Disaster Relief Loans Available for Homeowners, Businesses & Non-Profits Impacted by Flooding!
King County contributed to Washington State’s request to the federal government for disaster relief, and we succeeded in getting an official disaster declaration for the historic flooding that impacted our county and region in December 2025.
Federal disaster relief loans are still available for homeowners, businesses, and non-profits impacted by flooding!
All these loans are managed by the U.S. Small Business Administration, regardless of if you’re applying as a homeowner, business, or non-profit.
Businesses and nonprofits are eligible to apply for business physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. They can also apply for economic injury loans.
Homeowners and renters are eligible to apply for home and personal property loans and may borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair personal property, such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.
The filing deadline for claiming physical damage is Wednesday, June 10. The filing deadline for claiming economic damage is Thursday, January 7, 2027.

The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. King County Best Starts for Kids Prenatal to Five Innovation Fund
Applications are due Friday, May 15 @ 2 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Best Starts for Kids Prenatal to Five Innovation Fund aims to build up the power of community-led innovation to meet the emergent needs of families in King County. King County seeks community leaders to design, develop, test, and build the potential of innovative policies, programs, products, media, places, and services so that ALL children in King County grow up to be happy, healthy, safe, and thriving.
Approximately $1,400,000 is available through the Prenatal to Five Innovation Fund. Proposers may request up to $30,000 for all activities, with the exception that proposals for pilot programs may request up to $50,000.

2. 4Culture Equipment for Organizations
Interested applicants must indicate their intent to apply by Wednesday, May 20 @ 5 p.m. Final applications are due Wednesday, June 3 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: Museum shelving, stage lights, ceramic kilns, microscopes, and computers — 4Culture’s Equipment for Organizations grants offer up to $15,000 to support these needs and more for arts, heritage, historic preservation, and science organizations in King County. Purchases must be fixed, physical assets, which can include computer hardware. Organizations can request a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $15,000.

3. Steve Bleifuhs Memorial Flood Reduction Grants
 Applications are due Friday, May 22 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The King County Flood Control District Steve Bleifuhs Memorial Flood Reduction Grants support medium and small local flood reduction projects in King County. The categories are:
- Original Flood Reduction Grants
- Urban Streams
- Coastal Erosion/Coastal Flooding
- Culvert Replacement/Fish Passage
The total amount of funding available is $14.3 million. There is no minimum or cap on the individual award amount. Grants awarded in the past have ranged from $10,000 to $1,500,000. Non-profits, special purpose districts, tribes, cities and towns, and King County agencies are eligible to apply for all categories. Homeowner associations and schools are eligible to apply for the Original Flood Reduction Grants.

4. WA Department of Agriculture Food Assistance Resiliency Grants

Details: WA State Department of Agriculture Food Assistance Resiliency Grants aim to help address the critical needs of hunger relief organizations and the people they serve. Organizations based in Washington State primarily focused on addressing food insecurity and hunger relief should apply for this grant. The minimum grant award is $10,000, and the maximum grant award is $200,000.

5. WA Department of Commerce Youth Recreational Facilities Capital Funding
 Applications are due Thursday, May 28 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Washington State Department of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2027-2029 Youth Recreational Facilities grant program. These competitive grants can fund 25% of eligible capital costs for the acquisition, construction, and/or major renovation of non-residential youth recreational facilities – up to $1.2 million. This grant opportunity is available to tribes, non-profits, and community-based organizations.

6. Washington State Historical Society America’s 250th Events Grant
Applications are due Friday, May 29 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This grant supports community-based organizations in planning and delivering public events for the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary. The program is designed to encourage inclusive, locally driven activities that bring people together to reflect on our shared history. Priority will be given to projects that incorporate history and connect to an official Washington State America’s 250th initiative.
A total of $50,000 will be available for this grant – organizations may request up to $1,000. Organizations must be an America’s 250th official partner in Washington state and list their event/program on the statewide events calendar to apply.

7. King County Circular Lumber Funding Program
 Applications are due Friday, June 12 @ 3 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: King County is now accepting grant applications for salvaged lumber projects. This program aims to support and grow markets for wood waste diversion, deconstruction, wood salvage, product development and reuse, and business development in these fields. Organizations of all types are encouraged to apply, including non-profit, for-profit, public agencies and community groups with fiscal sponsors.
The awards are divided into two separate tracks – one focusing on equipment purchases up to $10,000 and the other focusing on program support averaging $100,000.

8. WA Department of Commerce Rapid Capital Housing Acquisition Program
 Applications are due Monday, June 15 @ 12 p.m. Submit application materials via a file sharing site to htfapp@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: The Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking applications for multifamily rental affordable housing projects seeking capital funding from the state Rapid Capital Housing Acquisition program.
This grant is intended for applicants seeking funding to acquire real property for a rapid conversion into enhanced emergency shelters, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, permanent housing, youth housing, or shelter for extremely low-income people, as well as individuals, families, unaccompanied youth, and young people experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness.

9. King Conservation District Resilient Communities Bridge Grants

Details: These grants are intended to support equity, environmental justice, and natural resource conservation for organizations that have a demonstrated funding gap resulting from the loss or reduction of prior funding. Tribes and Indigenous-led organizations, community based, nonprofit or fiscally sponsored organizations with a demonstrated focus on natural resource conservation in historically or systemically marginalized communities, and cities and towns are eligible.
Projects must advance natural resource improvements with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Sustainable Agriculture, Stormwater and Flooding, Riparian Restoration, Forest Health, and/or Wildfire Resilience.

10. Best Starts Child Care Subsidy
First there will be an initial eligibility form to fill out; if you are eligible, you will be invited to fill out the full application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link!
Details: Since launching in 2022, the Best Starts Child Care Subsidy has served over 2,000 children and has already resulted in positive impacts for families. A survey of families receiving the Best Starts subsidy showed families had more freedom to pursue career goals or advancements; saw reduced stress and improved quality of life; and had increased ability to pay for basic needs, including food, healthcare, childcare, formula, diapers, and transportation.
Families may be eligible if they:
- Live in King County
- Fall below 85% State Median Income (see table on website)
- Are not eligible for the State Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidy program
- Have one or more children (12 or younger)
- Choose a licensed childcare provider

11. Medic One Foundation Community AED Grants

Details: Medic One Foundation offers a limited number of grants for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in public areas such as local government facilities, community centers, playfields, parks, and law enforcement vehicles within King and Snohomish counties. Priority will be given and grants awarded based upon demonstrated financial need, population served, location, and potential impact. Organizations must be a nonprofit or public entity.

12. Open 4Culture

Details: Open 4Culture is the perfect introduction to 4Culture and grants in general. 4Culture staff will walk applicants through the process and give guidance on submitting strong application materials and responsible, realistic budgets and project plans. The grant awards up to $2,500 for Arts, Heritage, and Historic Preservation projects taking place in 2026.
