King County contributed to Washington State’s request to the federal government for disaster relief, and we succeeded in getting an official disaster declaration due to the historic flooding that impacted our county and region in December 2025.
Now, federal disaster relief loans are available for homeowners, businesses, and non-profits impacted by flooding!
All these loans are managed by the U.S. Small Business Administration, regardless of if you’re applying as a homeowner, business, or non-profit.
Businesses and nonprofits are eligible to apply for business physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. They can also apply for economic injury loans.
Homeowners and renters are eligible to apply for home and personal property loans and may borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair personal property, such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.
The filing deadline for claiming physical damage is Monday, April 27. The filing deadline for claiming economic damage is Tuesday, November 24.
The Small Business Administration has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center in North Bend to help businesses, nonprofit organizations, and residents apply. Visit them Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce office (128 W 2nd St, North Bend, WA 98045).
