 April 2026
Phase 2 of King County’s Murray Force Main Rehabilitation project starts as early as this May. The project ensures reliable wastewater service for West Seattle residents. Crews will line a section of a pressurized sewer pipe called a “force main.” We will also replace the valves at Murray Pump Station. This work must take place during the dry season to avoid service disruptions. Road and park restoration will occur in fall 2026 after work is complete.
Take our community survey for construction
We understand construction can be disruptive, and we want to be a good neighbor. We invite you to take our community survey. It will help us understand how to best support you during construction.
- Survey is now open through April 24.
- All questions are optional.
- No personal identifying information needed.
- If you prefer to fill out a printed copy or provide your responses by phone, please contact our project team by 206-263-9237 or email mkuo@kingcounty.gov.
What to expect during construction:
- No interruption to your wastewater service.
- One-lane alternating traffic on Beach Drive SW, with steel plates in the road. Bicyclists should use extreme caution passing through the work area.
- Lowman Beach Park playground, beach, and sidewalks will remain open.
- Typical construction noise near work areas.
- Street parking is not allowed during the posted hours. Please follow the parking sign instructions.
Thank you for your patience while we work on this project.
Note: Construction area shown on the map is approximate. The project work zone begins near Lowman Beach Park on the southbound side of Beach Drive SW. It extends about 0.2 miles north from the park.
