Survey work this Saturday on East Lake Sammamish Parkway

On Saturday, March 28, crews will survey the East Lake Sammamish Parkway between Sammamish Landing Park and the entrance of Weber Point (map below). Work hours are from 6 to 9 a.m.

What to expect:

  • Temporary single-lane closures for short durations.
  • Traffic signs, flaggers, and a truck with flashing lights.
  • Minor delays.
  • People on bikes will need to merge with traffic.

Please look out for our survey crews and drive or bike carefully in the area.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact our Community Services Team at SammamishPlateauDiversionProject@kingcounty.gov or 425-537-7216.

We are busy this spring!

  • Through March, crews are marking streams and wetlands along the project corridor. This work will occur along Northeast Inglewood Hill Road, East Lake Sammamish Parkway, and on the northern part of the East Lake Sammamish Trail.
  • Later this spring, crews will be surveying trees along the project corridor.
  • Crews will continue surveying utilities along the shoulder of East Lake Sammamish Parkway. This work takes place Monday through Friday and does not have traffic impacts.

We have been notified by survey crews that some garbage does not appear to have been picked up. The project's Community Services team is addressing this. Please contact us if you have had a problem: Email SammamishPlateauDiversionProject@kingcounty.gov or leave a voicemail at 425-537-7216.

The Online Open House winds down next week!

After almost three months and over 8,000 views, it’s time to wind down the Online Open House. After March 31, you will be able to continue viewing this product as a resource and fill out the survey on our Public Engagement page. Later this spring, we will follow up with a summary of what we heard.

We appreciate everyone who has filled out a survey and shared questions, suggestions, and contacts for community groups. Your responses help us understand your concerns and serve the community better during the project’s design and construction phases.

If you haven’t already, we invite you to take our survey to share your thoughts with us. You can fill it out as many times as you like. It’s available in seven languages:

English

Traditional Chinese - 正體字

Simplified Chinese - 中文

Korean - 한국어

Japanese - 日本語

Russian - Русский

Spanish - Español

If you need accommodations to access this material or would like to share your thoughts with us directly, please contact:

What comes next, and how can I participate?

The project is entering the early design phase, which should take about two years to complete. By the end of early design, the project team will have a better idea of the exact location of the pipe or pipes and the construction methods.

With the project corridor selected, the project team can do more work to understand exactly where the pipe or pipes will go. You can expect to see more field work, survey work, and crews in and around the project area.

We want to continue hearing from you! Share your thoughts in this next phase of the project in the following ways:

We're here for you!

We know that large construction projects can be stressful for communities, and there are a lot of construction projects going on across the Eastside. Our project team is committed to being available and continuing to work with neighbors, businesses, visitors, and commuters every step of the way. We will be here for you all the way through design and construction and into operations. Feel free to contact us at any time!
