March 2026
Visit our online open house and share what’s important to you and your community!
Thank you to the thousands of people who have viewed the Online Open House! We appreciate everyone who has filled out a survey and shared questions, suggestions, and contacts for community groups. Your responses help us understand your concerns and serve the community better as we continue through this project’s design phase.
Wondering how we use your suggestions? Make sure to read this week’s Q&A below!
We’ve reached out to local businesses, schools, homeowners associations, houses of worship, and community-based organizations to share information about the project. Who are we missing? Are you familiar with an organization or group that should know about this work? Let us know. We want to hear from everyone!
You can fill the survey out as many times as you like and in your preferred language. The online open house and survey is available in seven languages:

Question: I have a suggestion for the project. What will happen with my suggestion?
King County’s response: We document all community input and share this information with the project team. Community input informs the project’s design.
The Sammamish Plateau Diversion Project encourages all interested people to share information and suggestions with the team early in the project. Our Community Services team has been collecting community input through surveys and communications since 2023.
While the project team can’t guarantee we can incorporate all suggestions, we will consider them and follow up with you. Community suggestions and input frequently help King County’s project teams reduce impacts and realize opportunities.
The project team is beginning Early Design, where we will refine facility location and construction methods. This is a great time to share local information, concerns, and suggestions. Our Community Services team will follow up with the community, so you know how we considered your input!
Survey work on the parkway continues and Saturday work planned for March 28
The project team continues to survey utilities along East Lake Sammamish Parkway in Sammamish. Currently, this work is taking place around the 3900 block of the parkway. Most survey work will occur on the shoulder on Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This work will not affect traffic.
On Saturday, March 28, crews will survey the East Lake Sammamish Parkway between Sammamish Landing Park and the entrance of Weber Point. Work is scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. We will share more details on what to expect in our email next week.
Please look out for our survey crews and drive or bike carefully in the area.
We will be busy this spring!
-
Through March, crews are marking streams and wetlands along the project corridor. This work will occur along Northeast Inglewood Hill Road, East Lake Sammamish Parkway, and on the northern part of the East Lake Sammamish Trail.
-
Later this spring, crews will survey trees along the project corridor.
We're here for you!
We know that large construction projects can be stressful for communities, and there are a lot of construction projects going on across the Eastside. Our project team is committed to being available and continuing to work with neighbors, businesses, visitors, and commuters every step of the way. We will be here for you all the way through design and construction and into operations. Feel free to contact us at any time!
