Updated work hours for early morning Coal Creek Parkway SE closure on February 24

King County’s contractor is continuing construction activities in Bellevue.

The work hours for the early morning full closures of Coal Creek Parkway SE are now 4:30 am to 6:30 am, this is a change from our previous update. See below for more information.

On the early morning of Tuesday, February 24, the contractor will stop traffic in both directions on Coal Creek Parkway SE for short durations. The closures will be just north of the Forest Drive SE and Coal Creek Parkway SE intersection and will occur intermittently between 4:30 am and 6:30 am.

These closures are required so the contractor can safely move oversized equipment in and out of the work area. Drivers should expect significant delays on Coal Creek Parkway SE during these hours. We encourage drivers to use alternate routes during the closure.

What to expect:

  • Traffic impacts: Expect traffic delays. City of Bellevue Police, lane closure controls and flaggers will help direct traffic. Drivers and cyclists will wait outside the road closure area until directed through.
  • Full closure work hours: Intermittently between 4:30 am to 6:30 am, Tuesday, Feb. 24.
  • Ongoing daytime single-lane closuresAfter 6:30 am, regular daytime single-lane closures on Coal Creek Parkway SE will occurPermitted work hours for the southbound single-lane closure are 6 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. Permitted work hours for the northbound single-lane closure are 10:30 am to 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Construction noise typical to a work site.
