Survey work happening this Saturday morning on East Lake Sammamish Parkway

On Saturday, February 7, crews will survey a section of East Lake Sammamish Parkway between Northeast 49th Place and Sammamish Landing Park. During this work, crews will assess utilities located in the roadway. Work is scheduled to take place between 6 and 9 a.m.

There will be temporary single-lane closures for short durations. You will see traffic signs, flaggers, and a truck with flashing lights. Please drive slowly in the work area. People on bikes will need to merge with traffic. You can expect minor delays during this time.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact our Community Services Team at SammamishPlateauDiversionProject@kingcounty.gov or 425-537-7216.

What we’re hearing: Questions about exact pipe location and impacts

As we send out updates, we are responding to questions from people who visit the online open house. We're compiling these questions and responses into a document, which we'll post on the project website.

Question: Can you tell me where the pipe location will be? I’m interested in understanding how it will affect me.

King County’s response: The work our project team does over the next 18 months will help us answer this question. Right now, the team has identified the pipe corridor. During early design, we need to carefully survey what is underground and along the corridor. We know there are other utilities. We will need to do more work to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions. Construction methods also influence where pipes are installed and what impacts we expect.

This evaluation period is a great time for people living, working, recreating, and commuting through the area to share how you use the area and what your questions and concerns are. We are sharing everyone’s input with the project team and tracking concerns and questions. We will report back to the community when we have more information and share how we considered your input during design.

We're here for you!

We know that large construction projects can be stressful for communities, and there are a lot of construction projects going on across the Eastside. Our project team is committed to being available and continuing to work with neighbors, businesses, visitors, and commuters every step of the way. We will be here for you all the way through design and construction and into operations. Feel free to contact us at any time!
