January 2026
Environmental monitoring planned as early as January 26
|
|
Crews will conduct survey work by boat and along the shoreline
Starting as early as January 26, small crews of three to five people will conduct environmental survey work in the East Channel and along the nearby shoreline. In the East Channel, crews will use a boat and divers to complete survey work. Along the shorelines at Enatai Beach Park and the Mercer Island Boat Launch, crews will conduct elevation surveys and drone flights, weather permitting. This work is expected to be completed by January 30, depending on weather conditions.
These surveys will help King County meet permit requirements for environmental restoration, following last year’s shoreline enhancements that included installing logs and placing gravel to improve fish habitat.
