 Grant Opportunities Available Now! [Deadlines: January – February]

We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through February. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Best Starts for Kids Capital Program
Pre-proposals are due Wednesday, January 14 @ 2 p.m. Full applications are due Friday, March 13 @ 2 p.m. You are required to submit a pre-proposal to access the full application. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Best Starts for Kids Capital Program provides contracts for building repairs, renovations, and new construction or expansion to improve access to high quality programs and services for low-income children, young people, and families, with a priority for those serving Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. In addition, rural areas and/or low-income areas with lack of access will be prioritized. This particular RFP will fund the new construction or renovation of existing property for Community Centers or Recreational Centers.
Construction grants are expected not to exceed $5 million for any single project over the life of the levy. Best Starts will also provide Capital Planning Grants of up to $100,000.

2. Redmond World Cup Watch Party Grant Program

Details: The City of Redmond is excited to offer grants to support community-driven World Cup watch parties in public spaces across Redmond. This program aims to activate public spaces, strengthen community connections, and celebrate the global excitement of the World Cup during the tournament period from June 11 - July 19. This grant is open to nonprofit organizations, community groups, and businesses. Grants range from $500 to $6,000, with larger amounts considered for events with significant community impact.

3. Amex Shop Small Business Grants Program
 Applications are due Friday, January 16 @ 9:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: To help small businesses grow, innovate, and support their local communities, American Express is teaming up with Main Street America to launch the Amex Shop Small Grants Program. The program will provide $5 million to fund 250 grants of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners across the U.S. Recipients will have a 6-month period to complete a project that enriches their business – applicants are encouraged to prepare a ready-to-execute project plan and a detailed, itemized budget.

4. Washington State Industrial Symbiosis Grants
Applications are due Tuesday, January 20 @ 4 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Washington State Department of Commerce administers the Industrial Symbiosis Grant Program to support the practice of industrial symbiosis – diverting and capturing waste generated by organizations to be repurposed and innovated into beneficial resources for use by another industry. As a key strategy for a thriving circular economy, industrial symbiosis projects help efforts to reduce environmental impacts in our communities, develop a resilient local supply chain, and grow economic opportunities. About $2.4 million is available from the grant program. Applicants can request funding within the award range of $40,000 to $500,000.

5. WA State Department of Commerce Capital Project Capacity Grants for Non-profit Organizations
Project summaries are due Tuesday, January 20 @ 10 a.m. Full applications are due Thursday, February 12 @ 10 a.m. Submit project summaries and application materials via email at Ashly.McBunch@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: The Washington State Department of Commerce is soliciting applications from non-profit organizations to support planning and readiness activities for capital projects expected to be completed or shovel-ready within the next five years. This includes funding for pre-development and pre-construction work, such as feasibility studies, design, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
Total funding available is $390,000 for 2026. Applicants may request up to $50,000. Funds may be used for a range of early-stage capital project activities, including:
- Project plans and feasibility assessments
- Budget planning and lifecycle cost analysis
- Community and stakeholder engagement
- Schematic drawings, site plans, and design studies
- Environmental, engineering, and permitting work

6. PSTAA General Child Care Facilities Fund
Applications are due Friday, January 23 @ 8:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP is aimed at expanding and strengthening the early learning system in King County by supporting the construction of new Early Learning Facilities or the expansion of existing facilities. Applicants may apply for pre-development funding, renovation funds for existing facilities, or construction funding for new center-based (i.e., non-home-based) early learning child care providers and organizations.

7. Levitt Family Foundation 2026 Festival Grants
Applications are due Friday, January 30 @ 12 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The Levitt Foundation is offering grants of up to $5,000 to U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits presenting free outdoor music festivals in 2026. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, or be fiscally sponsored by one, and the festival must take place outdoors in a public space, be free to the public with no reserved ticket or RSVP required, and feature professional musicians who are compensated for their performances.

8. Safer Choices and Hazardous Waste Disposal Education Program
Applications are due Friday, January 30 @ 2 p.m. Submit application materials via email to cpres-EHS@kingcounty.gov.
Details: The King County Hazardous Waste Management Program and its Residential Services Program are seeking applications from community-based organizations to deliver Safer Choices and hazardous waste disposal education across King County. The primary goal of this program is to reduce household exposure to harmful chemicals by increasing community awareness, promoting safer product alternatives, and supporting proper disposal practices.

9. Byrne Justice Assistance Innovation Fund

Details: The Washington State Department of Commerce is soliciting grant proposals to conduct projects in alignment with the federal Byrne Justice Assistance Grant and Washington’s Byrne Justice Assistance Priority Areas. This program provides Washington state with critical funding necessary to support criminal legal system improvement and community advancement programs.
Washington state’s priority areas are:
- Planning, Evaluation and Technology Improvement
- Behavioral Health
- Prevention and Education
- Crime Victim Programming, Support and Advocacy
- Community Safety Enhancement and Law Enforcement Programs/Support
- Substance Use Treatment and Support
- Prosecution and Courts
- Corrections, Community Corrections and Reentry
- State Crisis Intervention Programs
This grant program is open to public agencies, units of local government, tribes and tribal organizations, and nonprofit organizations.

10. WA State Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates Program
Applications are due Thursday, February 5 @ 4 p.m. Submit application materials via email to homerebates@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: The State Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program provides grants to third-party administrators to provide rebates and incentives to households and small businesses to purchase and install high-efficiency electric equipment and appliances. WA State Department of Commerce is accepting applications from eligible third-party administrators for funding for rebate programs in 2025-2027.
Note: This program is seeking local organizations to distribute rebates. If you’re a homeowner or business owner seeking a rebate, please check out this website to see if you qualify.

11. City of Issaquah Tourism Funding
Applications are due Friday, February 6 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The City of Issaquah’s Lodging Tax Committee is seeking funding requests for $7,500, $10,000, or $15,000 to support tourism efforts between May 2026-April 2027. This request will fund the operations of tourism-related facilities, marketing and/or the operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists. Eligible projects must be implemented between May 2026 and April 2027, coordinate with Issaquah hotels, and attract visitors from 50+ miles away from Issaquah.

12. King County Conservation Futures Grants
Applications are due Monday, February 9 @ 4 p.m. Submit application materials via email to Ingrid.Lundin@kingcounty.gov.
Details: Conservation Futures grants are used to buy or conserve sites that will be used as parks and open spaces – for example, urban greenspaces and parks, natural areas, sites for habitat and stream restoration, forests, community gardens, farms, and trails. These open spaces may be used for passive recreation. Conservation Futures grants can be made to local government agencies and eligible nature conservancy or historic preservation nonprofits.

13. VSHSL DCHS-wide Human Services Workforce Stabilization Program
Applications are due Thursday, February 19 @ 2 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP aims to improve staff recruitment and retention within organizations with active Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS) awards providing Human Services in King County. Funds may be used to support staff across an organization through related expenses including, but not limited to:
- Increased wages
- Improved benefits
- Reduced cost of living subsidies, such as housing, education, childcare or health insurance offsets
- Hiring bonuses
- Retention bonuses
- Professional development and other training to improve service quality and staff wellness
This RFP is open to eligible organizations that are funded by DCHS, have not previously received funding through this particular grant program, and have an active contract period that ends on or after December 31, 2026 OR a contract that automatically renews annually and will extend to or beyond December 31, 2026.

14. Medic One Foundation Community AED Grants

Details: Medic One Foundation offers a limited number of grants for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in public areas such as local government facilities, community centers, playfields, parks, and law enforcement vehicles within King and Snohomish counties. Priority will be given and grants awarded based upon demonstrated financial need, population served, location, and potential impact. Organizations must be a nonprofit or public entity.

15. Open 4Culture
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a break between February 1 and March 31. (Meaning you may apply anytime except between February 1 and March 31, 2026). Contact Scott Oshima at 4open@4culture.org or 206-263-7870 to learn about the application process.
Details: Open 4Culture is the perfect introduction to 4Culture and grants in general. 4Culture staff will walk applicants through the process and give guidance on submitting strong application materials and responsible, realistic budgets and project plans. The grant awards up to $2,500 for Arts, Heritage, and Historic Preservation projects taking place in 2026.
