As you are likely aware, the Desimone Levee on the Green River in Tukwila was breached this morning. King County crews have completed a temporary repair of the levee but evacuation orders remain in effect until 9:00 PM as conditions continue to develop.

If you are in an affected area, please move to higher ground immediately and follow all instructions from first responders. Please do not drive or walk through floodwaters. Don’t drown, turn around!
King County Emergency Management is coordinating response efforts around the clock, including evacuations, shelters, and rescues. We are grateful for all of the King County and city workers, including first responders, for their tireless work under dangerous conditions. This response reflects remarkable collaboration between King County Emergency Management, the cities of Tukwila, Renton, and Kent, and our local and state partners. Everyone involved is working together to ensure the safety of our residents, homes, and businesses.
Road Closures
Please bear in mind that a number of roads are currently closed, including:
- State Route 167: six-mile closure
- Frager Road at W Meeker Street; Old Fishing Hole Park also closed
- Russell Road at Veterans Drive; Van Doren’s Landing Park also closed
- W Valley Highway / 68th Ave S / Washington Ave S: closed from Willis to S 277th Street
- S 262nd Street at 78th Avenue S to 27232 72nd Avenue S, just prior to S 272nd Street
- 78th Avenue S: S 277th Street to S 262nd Street
- S 277th Street: 108th Avenue SE to 83rd Avenue S / Auburn Way N
