King County contractors will repair about 140 feet of sewer pipe along SE 35th Place in Bellevue.
Construction is expected to start as early as September 15, 2025. Work is expected to take 6-10 weeks to complete.
The 24-inch-wide pipe broke while performing regular maintenance at the Heathfield Pump Station in August 2024 and has been out of service. King County completed temporary repairs last year. Since then, we have assessed its condition and planned a permanent repair. We need to finish repairs before the rainy season because this pipe carries extra wastewater and rain during big winter storms.
Construction will take place next to the eastbound travel lane on SE 35th PL.

- Approved work hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays
- Construction activities to repair the pipe will include:
- Excavating a trench
- Removing the existing pipe
- Replacing the pipe in the same location
- Backfilling the trench and restoring the work area
- Repaving the roadway once construction is complete
- Neighbors may experience increased noise and vibration, typical of a construction site
- Crews plan to work along the right-of-way on SE 35th PL
- Crews will close the eastbound travel lane to provide a safe work area
- Flaggers will direct alternating traffic through the open lane for drivers
There will be one lane alternating traffic on SE 35th PL
