Update: Backfilling on 97th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 34th Street now beginning as early as August 18 |
Expect alternating single lane traffic with flaggers |
Starting as early as August 18, crews will begin backfilling at the intersection of 97th Avenue SE and SE 34th Street following pipe relining work. A dump truck and an excavator will be on site to move materials.
During work hours, there will be alternating single lane traffic directed by flaggers around the work area. Drivers may experience brief delays and can expect to wait a few minutes when driving through the intersection of 97th Ave SE and SE 34th St. Driveway access will be maintained at all times and the intersection will reopen to two-way traffic outside of work hours. This work is expected to take up to a week to complete. Please travel slowly through the area and follow all posted signs and crew directions.
Final paving and restoration
Final paving is weather dependent and will be scheduled during the permitted paving window, which runs through mid-October.
Map of work area. During work hours, flaggers will direct single lane traffic around the site. Please follow directions from signage and flaggers for safe access.
Temporary above-ground bypass pipes and driveway access ramps located north of the intersection will remain in place while the newly relined pipe is tested. Pipe testing and the inspection process is expected to take approximately two months.
Upgrading Lift Station 11 at Fruitland Landing
Crews will continue work to complete upgrades at the lift station through the fall, including final restoration activities. The park will reopen once all remaining work is finished. We will send a notice with more information and update the project website once final restoration and paving has been scheduled.
